Bogd Zanabazar (1635-1723), also known as Undur Gegeen Zanabazar and Bogd Jivzundamba (1635-1723), was a direct descendant of Genghis Khan and the grandson of Avtai Sain Khan. Zanabazar was Mongolia’s First Resplendent Saint, most known for his incalculable contribution to the development of Mongolian fine arts. This fine-arts museum houses a stunning collection of religious paintings, sculptures, embroideries, tapestries, and scrolls, many of which were created by Zanabazar, a respected sculptor and artist. A lovely display of Mongolian art, with a focus on Buddhism. The structure is 100 years old and was designed in the European style.
