It is one of the country’s most gorgeous lakes. Extinct and craterous volcanoes surround the freshwater lake, which was produced by lava flows from a millennia-old volcanic eruption. The area is coated in black volcanic rocks as a result of the volcano eruptions. It’s 15 kilometers long, with a maximum depth of 2 meters and 40% has a depth of less than 2 meters.
Migratory waterfowl use the large wetlands in the west as a breeding and staging location.
