Orog Lake is one of the four saline lakes at the foot of the Gobi Altai Mountain, which ranges in altitude from 1100m to 1235m. It is located at the end of the Tuin River, which passes through the small city of Bayankhongor and is one of the four saline lakes at the foot of the Gobi Altai Mountain.
In the Gobi Valley of Lakes, Orog Nuur is situated at the foot of the Ikh Bogd Uul range. This lake is a fantastic spot to see birds and is known to be a major staging region for migratory waterfowl, as well as a possible breeding ground for the uncommon Relict Gull.
