The sacred rock known as Eej Khad, or Mother Rock, is located near the Khoshigiin Ar in the sum (district) of Sergelen, 15 kilometers south of Zuunmod. Mongolians frequently come here for comfort and wisdom, leaving offerings of vodka, milk, and silk scarves known as khatag. Pilgrims make three distinct visits, pray for three desires to be granted, and circle the rock three times. There are various such spots that are said to bring good fortune. One is Dog Rock, which Mongolians use to heal their ailments by rubbing their bodies against it. The other is Rich Rock, which is a few kilometers north of Mother Rock, and villagers touch their wallets to it to ensure financial security.
