The Onon River originates in the Khentii Mountains and flows through Mongolia for 298 kilometers before entering Russia. The basin of this river is 96.2 km in length, and it receives water from various rivers, including the Eg, Barkli, Khurkli, Shuus, Agats, and Khoyorkhon. There are roughly 30 different species of fish in this river. Many interesting events in Mongolian history occurred in this river’s basin during the reign of Genghis Khan.
