The Tamir River is a powerful river that flows through the valleys of the Khangai Mountains in central Mongolia’s Arkhangai aimag. The Orkhon River receives its water from the Tamir River, which originates in the Khangai mountain range. The so-called three branches of the Tamirs (the Tamir River, the north Tamir River, and the south Tamir River) have a total length of 280 kilometers.
