south mongolia

Ulziit som is home to Tsagaan Suvraga’s scarp. The cliff reaches a height of 30 meters and spans a width of 100 meters. The wind has sculpted this incredible edifice over thousands of years.
Tsagaan Suvraga looks like the ruins of an ancient city with collapsing buildings from afar. Images of people hunting ibex with long bows, as well as petroglyphs portraying wild animals and cattle, are painted and etched into the rocks. In addition, the caverns include Turkic inscriptions with various seals and motifs.

From the upper slopes of a mountain down across the steppe, a fissure stretches east to west. High mud columns rise from the depths below when you look into the rift. The yawning chasm resembles the open jaws of a magnificent creature. Some of the caverns are multi-chambered, with one extending over 70 meters in length.
