Gorkhi-Terelj National Park is one of Ulaanbaatar’s nearest and most accessible national parks. The location is stunning, with breathtaking mountain scenery, and provides numerous activities such as hiking, rock climbing, horseback riding, swimming, rafting, and dog sledding on a frozen river in the winter.
Visitors can find restaurants, gift shops, rented horses and camels, and a tourist ger camp in the park’s southern section. The majority of the park, however, remains undeveloped and difficult to access once you cross the Terelj river.
