Melting glaciers in the Altai highlands feed the majority of the Olgii’s rivers. These rivers, in turn, provide water to around 250 lakes in Bayan Olgii. Achit, Khoton, Khurgan, and Dayan are the four largest lakes. All of them, with the exception of Achit, are in Tavan Bogd National Park. With an average depth of 28 meters, Khoton is the deepest. With a surface size of 5.3 thousand hectares, Dayan is the largest.
